Born in sunny California, Cohen began strumming the guitar at five stating "I'm going to be a Japanese Popstar!". Piano lessons, some bluegrass skills from Aunt Alice & a strong sense of wonder has lead Cohen into the hearts of the world. Playing west coast coffee shops, the streets in Galway & countless courtyards in Paris, these early shows were stripped down to Cohen's distinctive voice & acoustic guitar. Cello, percusion, organ & all kinds of classic acoustic instrumentaion followed, making his first compositions clear & beautiful. Inspired, Cohen released a string of independant records including "Rachel's House", "Strange Birds" & "Rockstar EP". While sitting on a beach on Maui with a five string hawaiian guitar he was discovered by a producer visiting from New York. The song "Rockstar" brought him to the Big Apple to consider a major label contract. It was however 2003, the iPod was taking over, digital alternatives were sprouting & the record industy was struggling to find its ground. At this Cohen decided to decline the offer, returning to Seattle to complete another independant release "Moonfall". Pesently Cohen is working on a new record [GYPSYPOP!] with classic gypsy instrumentation & rock/pop presentation. By design the new record will be supported by a tour of Japan, culminating at the Cherry Blossum Festival 2008.
